Travel Oregon “Living With Wildfire”

May we remember what was. Protect what is. And celebrate the renewal that indicates what’s to come. We look to the landscape to better understand wildfires in Oregon and ensure our favorite places thrive for generations to come. Here’s to a healthy, vibrant, diverse, and oh-so-beautiful Oregon!

This project by Travel Oregon simmers it down to an expert level, featuring interviews with Paul Hessburg PH.D (Research Landscape Ecologist, PNW Research Station), Lisa Ellsworth PH.D (Fire and Habitat Ecologist, Oregon State University), Mia Sheppard (Flyfishing Guide, Little Creek Outdoors), and Trey Leonard (Fire Management Officer, Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs, Oregon).

Thank you to Travel Oregon for trusting us with such a hot topic (sorry!). Thank you to Erin Galey and team from In The Flicker for producing the blazes out of this (can’t stop!), and to all the fire-affected community members and business owners who shared their stories with us. — words by Kelly Martinelli (Uncage The Soul Productions)

So often we set out to tell one thing, and what we learn in the process funnels us into a new direction. This has been a perspective-shifting, whirlwind of a project, and we hope you’ll watch (til the end!), consider, converse, and share.
